Hemp seeds (often referred to as hemp hearts) are incredibly nutritious and have a wonderfully mild, nutty flavour. They are packed with an impressive list of nutrients and are exceptionally rich in the essential fatty acids linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), perfectly balanced in a three to one ratio. They are high in vitamin E, iron, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, fibre and easily digestible protein. In fact, hemp protein is a complete protein, making these seeds an excellent daily protein source. These nutritious and healing seeds are versatile, easy to use and extremely tasty. Sprinkle them over yoghurts and salads, add a spoonful (or two) to smoothies and oats or include them in homemade granola and energy bars. WHAT ARE OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS?
Omega-3 fatty acids generally come from one of two sources. Firstly, they can be derived from fish oils, which contain docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Secondly, they can be derived from some plants, which contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is converted into DHA and EPA in the body. Hemp seeds contain ALA.

Although hemp seeds come from the Cannabis Sativa plant, the seeds do not contain the psychoactive cannabinoid responsible for the mind-altering effect associated with this plant. So no, you will not get high.
